ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Kristen!
As a lifelong chicken lover, I wanted to start this site to share my knowledge with everyone. I have loved chickens for as long as I can remember, growing up in the suburbs, owning chickens was just never an option for me. When my husband I bought our first house, it came with a chicken coop and it was game on from there!
We started with just a few and because of chicken math, our flock quickly grew. I realized that my love for chickens as a child was actually my true passion, as crazy as that might sound. I found peace and comfort hanging out in the coop tending to them on an otherwise crazy day. And I hope to share that love with you all through this blog!
Located in central Maryland, my husband, Chris, and I have two beautiful children, Brooks and Skylar, who help tend to our flock. It’s a wonderful learning experience for the kids. It teaches them responsibility and proper pet ownership.
While Brooks is our rambunctious little boy, Skylar is quickly become my chicken helper. She loves spending time outdoors with them and is very patient when it comes to earning their trust.
Outside of chickens, we have one Aussiedor named Boomer and a cat named Lunda. The kids love to play baseball and softball respectively and if we can find a free moment, we all love traveling for a getaway to the Smokey Mountains.
